You have options if you prefer to prepare your own tax return.

1)    Click on the blue button "Prepare Your Return Online" to the right to prepare and e-file a simple tax return at no charge (Federal 1040 EZ). This takes you to my Affiliation with 1040.com 

·        The Basic Fed 1040 A and Deluxe Fed 1040 returns have a low cost, as well as the state return. (The state fee provides as many States as you may need.)

2)    You can visit www.irs.gov and use FreeFile.

3)    TurboTax from Intuit would be the next online choice.

4)    If you are looking for a box product that you can use on your computer, Please use the Turbo Tax Personal Tax Software - CD. It is in my opinion the best product available in this fashion.

When looking at tax preparation software please shop around and ask questions.

U.S. tax law is not only convoluted in structure; it also changes nearly every year.
